Christian Education

Our goal at Tracy Lutheran Church is to give people of all ages a strong Biblical background and thirst for God; creating leaders for our community and world to serve God and be the hands and feet of Christ.

We offer a variety of Christian Education opportunities!

Woman of TLC

We have several active circles!  If you desire to be part of one of these, they would LOVE to meet you and have you join them!  ANY TIME! :

  • Glory Circle meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 pm at the church.

  • Prophecy Circle meets on the first Tuesday evening at 7 pm at member's homes.  Please call the church office for more information on where they are meeting that month.

  • Do Day Mission Work Day. Ladies of the church meet each Wednesday morning about 9am to come together and assemble quilts, baby care kits, school bags, and health kits which are then delivered to Lutheran World Relief to be distributed to countries where they are needed.   Of course there is coffee time.

  • The Prayer Shawl Group crochets or knits prayer shawls for people in need or hurting.  These shawls are handmade with love and prayed over before given to the recipient.  The Prayer Shawl Group meets each Wednesday at 9am along with the DoDay Ladies

Men of TLC

MEN IN MISSIONS is a group of men who study the Word of the Lord together every Monday morning at 9 am.  They meet at the church for great discussion, fellowship and faith growth.  ALL men are welcome ANYTIME!

Youth of TLC

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Children of TLC

Sunday School for 4 year olds to 6th grade meets every Sunday during the school year after worship, 10:15am-11:15am.

JOYFUL NOISE Children's Choir meets every Sunday. They learn and sing songs of praise to God. We LOVE to hear their joyful songs as they sing at Church once a month and share what they have learned. They always make us smile... they make Jesus smile, too!

First Communion: Once a year the 5thgrade youth of Tracy Lutheran experience their first communion as we celebrate this special day of our Lord's Last Supper. This is always a very memorable event. The 5th graders have five weeks of instruction during their regular Sunday school hour that prepares their hearts for this special day.  This year First Communion will be on Palm Sunday March 20th during worship time.

Vacation Bible School: Every summer we have a VBS for the children. This is always a ton of fun as they learn more of Jesus and to walk in His ways in a high energetic creative way.

Watch for the dates or call the church office for more information.

Christmas Program: Each year the children study the Christmas Story in an interactive way and learn of Jesus' Birth as they prepare for the Christmas program. The children put on a wonderful show at worship- it is something you won't want to miss!

Rally Sunday, Pre-School, Third Grade Bibles: Each year at the beginning of the School year we have a fun day to get the season going again. Rally Sunday is the first day of Sunday School. On this special day the Little Lambs (Pre-School) and 3rd graders receive their age-appropriate Bibles. This is always an exciting day!

Cradle Role:  Cradle Roll plays a special part during the celebration of Holy Baptism. When a young child is baptized, he/she is enrolled in Cradle Roll.  On the day of Baptism, the child recieves a blanket from the Prayer Shawl Group of Tracy Lutheran Church.  This is a very special blanket that is prayed over before given to the child.  The newly baptised child also recieves a candle and a book on their day.  It is also at age 3 that they get to go to Little Lambs on Sunday.   It is our commitment to bring God's kingdom of love and light into the lives of the newest member of our congregation.

The responsibilities and duties of parents and sponsors are to faithfully bring them to the services of God's house, and teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments. You should place in their hands the Holy Scriptures and provide for their instruction in the Christian faith, that, living in the covenant of their Baptism and in communion with the Church, they may lead godly lives until the day of Jesus Christ.
